About the project
Territory Weed Management currently carries out weed control on Boral quarries at Howard Springs and at MT Bundy on the Arnhem Highway.
Boral contract Territory Weed management to control weeds on site to ensure:
- Boral meet all statutory requirements regarding weed control.
- Reduce the risk of weed spread on and off site
- Reduce fire risk and protect assets.
Weeds growing in and around mining and extractive sites have the potential to spread on mining vehicles and in mine material to road corridors and development sites.
Our weed management solution
Weed control challenges at these sites include access to quarry walls and rock dumps, safety issues with large earth moving machinery.
Territory Weed Management have ‘mine ready’ vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with two way radios, safety flag, safety beacon light and all staff are in high vis clothing.
Vehicles used on quarry sites are equipped with 150 metre automatically retractable hoses. This allows safe access to most places on the quarry sites.
Territory Weed management staff are also familiar with the induction process on mine and quarry sites; the induction knowledge complimenting the safety procedures that TWM already have in place for working on such sites.
